River North Environmental Testing

River North Environmental Testing (RNET) provides asbestos and microbial analysis to support environmental consulting firms, abatement contractors, and home owners. Utilizing PLM, PCM, and TEM techniques, RNET assesses bulk building materials and air samples for your testing needs.

RNET is accredited for bulk asbestos analysis identifcation by polarized light microscopy (PLM) and airborne asbestos identifcation by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) with the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Our NVLAP laboratory code is 200448-0. For conducting Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) analysis, RNET remains a successful participant in the Industrial Hygiene Proficiency Analytical Testing (IHPAT) administered by the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s (AIHA) Laboratory Quality Assurance Program, lab ID code 102996. Starting in 2012 RNET is also participating in the Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing (EMPAT) Fungal Direct Examination Program under the same AIHA lab ID code. We have separate laboratory areas for the different analytical services offered. As a small laboratory, we can help you design and/or choose the right testing methods for your project.
